Epic People is run by Karen & Grant Dempsey from the idyllic setting of Timaru in the South Island of New Zealand. Yes its true we are less than 2 hours to ski fields, can host national events on our mountain bike tracks and even have some extremely decent coffee places in town. And shopping…. well there’s always Christchurch just up the road.
Both Karen and Grant have worked in the helping professions for a combined total of over 30 years.
Karen has worked with children as an Occupational Therapist and run her own business including an OSCAR (after school/holiday) program, training others to work with kids and families. She has also worked as a private therapist in rehabilitation in industrial and commercial settings.
Grant has a MA Psych and has worked in the charitable/welfare sector with community projects, provided counselling in a not for profit agency, authored and facilitated programs for men who have been violent, and had leadership and pastoral roles in church communities. He has managed and trained staff in his own business. He professionally and personally knows the importance of keeping the tanks full for people who help others.
