Is this time management course right for you?
Who this training is for
This recruitment skills course is ideal for:
- Busy NZ professionals: Individuals in SMEs or corporate environments who are juggling competing priorities and shifting deadlines.
- Team leaders and managers: Those who need to manage their own output while remaining available for their team’s needs.
- Hybrid and remote workers: People working from home anywhere in NZ who need better boundaries to stay focused.
- The ‘overwhelmed’: Anyone who feels like they are ‘firefighting’ all day rather than making progress on high-value projects.
Who this training is not for
This course probably isn’t for you if:
- You want a “quick fix”: We provide systems, but they require a willingness to change existing habits and mindsets. There’s work to do in setting up your systems after the workshop.
- You have zero schedule control: If your workday is 100% dictated by an external queue (e.g., a call centre) with no autonomy, the tools may be difficult to implement.
- You want theory only: If you are looking for an academic study on the philosophy of time rather than practical workplace tools, this might not be the right match.
Why a personalised productivity toolbox matters in the NZ workplace
A small investment in your time management systems equals a huge increase in productivity
In Aotearoa we’re a nation of small business, and that means we often wear many hats. We juggle many tasks, constant interruptions and competing priorities. Generic ‘time hacks’ don’t work because they don’t account for the variety of your tasks. Our training focuses on:
- Cognitive load management: Learning how to protect your mental energy for “deep work.”
- Inbox mastery: A proven method to reach (and keep) Inbox Zero, reducing the ‘digital noise’ that creates anxiety.
- Proactive prioritisation: Moving beyond the “urgent” to focus on the “Important” tasks that actually drive your career or business forward.
- Working in sync with your energy levels and understanding your productivity blockers and sabateurs.
Beyond the clock: what you'll truly gain from better time management
Effective time management isn’t about squeezing more tasks into an already exhausted day; it’s about reclaiming your mental space and professional reputation. When you master your workflow, the benefits ripple across your entire life.
Drastic reduction in workplace stress
The “panic” of a looming deadline is often just a symptom of a system that isn’t working. By implementing a proactive structure, you replace reactive “firefighting” with calm, intentional action. Research shows that professionals with structured schedules report significantly lower anxiety and higher job satisfaction.
Reclaim your evenings (better work-life balance)
In the NZ “multi-hat” work culture, work often follows us home. By mastering task-batching and priority setting, you can finish your high-impact work during office hours. You’ll leave the office (or close your laptop at home) with a “clean slate,” allowing you to fully disconnect and recharge with family and friends.
Enhanced professional reputation and trust
Reliability is a currency in business. When you consistently meet deadlines and communicate clearly about your capacity, you build massive trust with your team and clients. You move from being the person who is “always flat out” to the person who is “always in control.”
Space for “deep work” and innovation
When you aren’t bogged down by a cluttered inbox or constant interruptions, your brain finally has the bandwidth for strategic thinking. This is where your best ideas happen—the ones that actually grow your business or advance your career.
Eliminated procrastination guilt
We tackle the root causes of procrastination (it’s rarely about laziness!). You’ll gain the tools to “eat the frog” and break through the mental blocks that keep you stuck on difficult tasks, replacing guilt with a genuine sense of daily accomplishment.
The ROI of improved productivity for NZ businesses
Lower staff turnover: Teams that manage their time well are less likely to suffer from burnout, will feel happier in their roles, and less likely to look for a change.
Improved quality of work: Fewer rushed jobs mean fewer errors and higher client satisfaction.
Increased billable efficiency: For service-based businesses, better time management directly correlates to improved profit margins. Reduced administration time means more billable time.

Course FAQ's - Time Management and Productivity workshop
What is time management?
At its core, time management is about making conscious choices about how you spend your valuable hours. It’s not about finding more time, but rather about making the most of the time you have. Our program delves into various aspects of personal productivity, helping you master scheduling and prioritisation, optimise your workflow organisation, and develop effective self-management techniques. We’ll show you how to move from feeling reactive to proactive, gaining a sense of calm and control over your daily tasks.
Why is effective time management crucial?
Let’s face it, work is busy. Everyone feels like they work in an environment with too little staff and too much work. So optimising your time is no longer a luxury, it’s a necessity. Mastering efficiency skills and strategic planning can lead to:
- reduced stress – less panic about deadlines and more confidence in your ability to handle competing priorities or multiple tasks
- increased productivity – get more done in less time, freeing up space for the added extras you might want to tackle
- improved work-life balance – leave work on time and being able to mentally leave work behind you when you go home
- enhanced focus – minimising distractions and using short bursts of ‘focused time’ for maximum output
- achieve your goals – systematically work towards your aspirations, both professional and personal
- increased sense of self-efficacy – getting through tasks quickly or with less stress can boost your feelings of accomplishment, leading to higher self-esteem.
What should I look for in a time management course?
In our opinion, a good time management course does more than just give you some generic time management tools. Time management tools and techniques are only useful if they fit your work style, energy levels and the features of your job.
The best time management training will ensure that you can customise efficiency and productivity tools so that they will work for you. For example, in our workshop, you will start by examining the features of your job. Then, as we work through the different time management tools and techniques, you will easily be able to identify what is going to be useful for you, or how you might adapt the tools to work best for you.
It’s also important to look at your own habits and behaviours that are derailing your productivity efforts, and so we examine those in our workshop too. Find out more about what you should look for on our blog here.
What people benefit from time management training?
Anyone who has a job that juggles competing priorities, many tasks and projects, and works with a wide range of people can benefit from time management training. This is true of so many people here in Aotearoa New Zealand – we’re a nation of small to medium sized businesses where for most people, their job has a ton of variety. Team leaders, administrators, managers, supervisors, almost anyone!
Whether you’re looking to enhance your personal organization, improve your workload management, or simply gain better control of your day, our training offers practical, actionable insights that anyone juggling a high workload can implement immediately.
Is time management training going to be right for me?
We get it, time is precious! If you’re going to be investing a day*, you want to know that it’s time and money well spent. This workshop is right for you if you work in an office (or even if part of your day is spent at a desk), and you are juggling many tasks, people, priorities and projects. Work might be coming at you from all directions, and you probably have a lot of email traffic and competing demands. If this sounds like you, then this training could be right for you.
*Half a day for the workshop, and we recommend half a day to start plan and implement your productivity and efficiency systems. You’re going to be so energised about what you’ve learned that you’ll be wanting to put your time management plan in place immediately!
Is this training relevant for NZ workplaces?
Yes! Our training is designed by us, not purchased from overseas. We know kiwi workplaces and have designed this training with that in mind.
What makes this different from other Time Management courses in NZ?
Most courses teach a rigid “one size fits all” method. Because we understand the variety of roles in NZ businesses, we focus on customisation. You examine your own job features first, then adapt our tools (like energy mapping and the Eisenhower Matrix) to fit your specific workflow.
Can I book this as an in-house workshop for my team?
Absolutely. We deliver in-house Time Management workshops across Auckland, Hamilton, Tauranga, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin. This is often the most effective way to improve “collective productivity”—getting the whole team on the same page with how you communicate and handle interruptions.
How are time management workshops delivered?
Our time management training workshops can be delivered face to face or as virtual classrooms. Find our virtual workshops here. If you have a large enough group wanting time management training, we are happy to come to your workplace to deliver the workshop face to face. We can deliver workshops at your workplace all the main centres: Auckland, Hamilton, Tauranga, Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin and Invercargill. If you’re elsewhere in New Zealand, we may still be able to come to you; just give us a shout and we’ll see what we can do.
How much time do I need to commit to this training?
Workshops usually run in the morning, starting around 9am. After the workshop you should be prepared to commit to 2-3 hours to use what you’ve learned to put your systems in place. Ideally you would have the whole day blocked out so that you can do this straight after the workshop. Then, on your first day back at work after the workshop, you can start using your new systems immediately.
What equipment do I need for a virtual classroom?
You will need to have a laptop or computer with webcam and microphone. Headphones are recommended if you are attending at work or there are going to be other people around you. This is important because in our time management training workshops, we like to simulate the classroom as much as we can. By being able to see each other and talk to each other, the learning process is enriched and you will get more value from the training. You may also need to download software that allows you to connect to the classroom. We recommend that this is arranged with your workplace, or sorted on your home equipment well in advance of the workshop so you are up and running on the day.
Ready to reclaim your day and gain the feeling of calm?
Don’t let another week disappear into a blur of emails and “firefighting.” Join our next workshop and leave with a system that gives you back hours of your week.
